Blog Commenter’s Prize Find!

April 8th, 2012 · 17 Comments

Readers of my blog know I really enjoy the information, ideas and input readers of Keeping It Real provide … published in the Comments section following my own pieces.

But contributor DonGar’s offering … and the North Shore News story he points to …. deserves special attention.

Here it is … very telling, well written …and hilarious (for most!):

“The truth be told.

Gabe Garfinkel, Executive Assistant to the Premier

“When the premier speaks, we would rather her comments not be reported.”

Now that’s keeping it real.”

Thanks Don.  You made my day!

Here’s what the BC Liberal website says:

“BC must lead in the area of open government. This means:
We have the most comprehensive ‘open data’ platform of any province in Canada, the Premier holds regular open town hall meetings across BC to hear from citizens, and we use new technology, such as social media, to give British Columbians more ways to make their voices heard. These three ideals overlap in every decision we make and every policy we create.”

I guess they were just kidding…

Hilarious- problem is it doesn`t surprise me.

Awesome find. It just reinforces the Liberal idea of being open. That would be open our wallets to their friends and tell us nothing. This woman and her crew ( and I mean that in the criminal sense ) are a bad joke. They can’t go away soon enough for me.

It would appear that the premier has surrounded herself with idiots. Its not a wonder that she looks frazzled.

What a complete disaster this crew is! I’m now working in Alberta and still watching the BC Liberal debacle in complete awe. Oh yes, Alberta is in the midst of an election run-up, but it still doesn’t offer as much entertainment as to what’s going on in BC.

There once was a time when one considered the BC NDP their own worst enemy…but, holy man…the Libs have trumped anything self destructing the NDP ever did.

Gee…with that new Ottawa alligator and Pamela Martin in the office…how could these things happen?

(Response: Well, Frosty….Maybe they’ll say it was “taken out of context”! LOL! h.o)

Professionalism and expertise at it’s best eh!
    ROTFLMAO

    Thanks

This reminds me of another comment some 15 years ago, where a NDP assistant to Joy McPhail said during the Broadway/Lougheed/Millennium Line debate; “LRT was an unproven transit mode”, despite the fact it had been around in one form or another since the 1890′s!

So good that you have posted this. Paul Willcocks and Norm Farrell also are posting this on their blogs. Awesome to see the story spreading further to more audience.

Typical FIBeral damage control – ready – SHOOT- aim. These people are sinking lower than the Titanic everytime they open their mouth. They can’t be gone soon enough.

    Harv,

Thanks for this but unlike CC who takes credit for things she had nothing to do with like North Shore Ship yard contact, I found the link on Alex’s site from one of his readers and just passed it along with added comment.

    Cheers

I read the newspaper account & it is hilarious. O.K. its not a comedy, this is for real. I don’t know where she picked this kid up but the next hire should know a little about P.R. & politics.

How could he be so “stupid” as to make a remark such as this. Didn’t he even think it might be reported given he was saying it to someone who had a press pass & invitation.

What is so worrysome is these people are running our province.

    Hi Harvey,

after reading the article as if on cue it echoes your recent posts ; ” watching the liberals self destruct,” and “the last thing a politician needs are folks to be laughing at them” but we go, again.

The other thing that springs to mind is where did they find a couple of hundred people to listen to what must have been nothing in particular.? Free food and a liberal membership.?

On a more serious note, this is an appalling way to treat the local press and a serious lack of common sense. With cristy in freefall why the heck would they do anything to help that descent. In respect to the job cristy’s press ” handlers” have been doing recently, she may want to take a look at the job descrpition again.

(Response: Watching how they (and she) operate, it’s hard to believe they are supposed to be so experienced in dealing with the public and the media. It’s almost like they are stuck in 1970s and earlier political methodology, where, without the internet and other social media, relatively few people paid attention to or spread the daily machinations of politicians. h.o.)

    Commenter13 states;

“It would appear that the premier has surrounded herself with idiots. It’s not a wonder that she looks frazzled.”

I would have to disagree as this statement is a clear insult to idiots everywhere including myself.

Clark has surrounded herself with people as smart as she is…;)

    I read the news today

    Oh Boy

    About a lucky man

    Who’d made the grade…

I wonder what kind of salary ol’ Gabe is slurping out of the public trough, and what his pension plan is like. For fun, perhaps it can be compared to the salary of an anesthesiologist and prorated by years of education/experience.
