Okay … they didn’t sell it: it’s worse than that … they just gave it away.
I was thinking that after watching an eye-opening story on CBC National news Tuesday night about the horrible torturing of Palestinians … complete with stomach-churning photos of unfortunate victims, badly bloodied, deeply cut and bruised. And at least one had been tortured to death.
Horrible and cruel abuse … deserving of loud condemnation and demands for it to stop NOW!!! Exactly the type of action we can always count on our Federal NDP members/supporters to do.
Oh, but these Palestinians were victims of other Palestininians! As the CBC reported, and both Palestinian human rights activists and the internationally-respected Human Rights Watch organization backed up their findings, these victims were Hamas supporters tortured by Fatah, and Fatah supporters tortured by Hamas.
This has been going on for years … far too long … openly and brutally, spreading fear and terror within Palestinian populations in both the West Bank and Gaza.
But as far as I can see, the Federal NDP has said nothing: never condemned it; never called for it to stop; never denounced Hamas and Fatah for what they are … competing anti-democratic (and often corrupt) fascist organizations that rule more based on fear/violence than any real respect for the voters or civil rights.
Torture and summary death are regularly meted out to political opponents.
And we here in Canada can hardly imagine (maybe too horiffic to even contemplate) what Hamas and Fatah would do to homosexuals, the transgendered, human rights and union agitators, and advocates for full women’s rights!
Yet the Federal NDP never condemns them. Never says a word about Hamas, Fatah or Hesbollah excesses.
Oh, sure, there was a motion passed at its Biennial Conference in Quebec City Sept/2006 condemning ISRAEL for its “drastically disproportionate” reaction after Hesbollah’s unprovoked attack, killing seven Israeli soldiers and capturing two more (also KILLED by Hesbollah) … but funny, NEVER a word condemning Hesbollah for the thousands of missiles fired into Israel killing, maiming and spreading fear and terror for thousands. In fact, the NDP’s International Affairs Committee only described Hesbollah as “a recognized political party with democratically elected members in Lebanon’s cabinet and Parliament”.)
No mention of its military wing, which just a few days ago was again killing its fellow Lebanese citizens … Sunni Muslims and Christians … in attacks around Beirut with machine gun and mortar fire, in a bid to increase its power once more through fear and intimidation. (Sure glad our Cabinet members and Parliamentarians aren’t backed up by heavily armed/often violent factions like that!)
And of course, in their motion, the same federal NDP intellects also called for Israel to withdraw from the Syrian Golan Heights. No mention, of course, of all the shells that used to rain down on Israeli villages and SOCIALIST kibbutzes located just under the heights…. killing many innocent civilians, including children and babies. Or how many more Israelis could be killed by shells fired on them once more from the Syrian hills above if they withdrew without a comprehensive peace agreement/controls. Trivialities, like the deaths of Jewish villagers, farmers, women, children, quite clearly don’t worry the Federal NDP; the motion passed.
And who can forget NDP MP Svend Robinson’s disgrace (no, not that one) with what looked to me as a fawning effort to visit PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat … reportedly one of the most corrupt Palestinian leaders ever, who secreted out of the West Bank millions of dollars that should have gone to aid his own suffering people.
And then, only weeks ago, there was NDP Foreign Affairs Critic Paul Dewar, calling on Ottawa to reassess its decision NOT to attend the 2009 World Conference Against Racism, to be chaired by Libya! With its agenda now being drawn up by prepatory committee co-chairs Pakistan, Cuba and Iran.
Sounds like a pathetic joke. But if you remember the 2001 so-called Conference on Racism, most in the civilized world were not left laughing.
It brought smiles only to the faces of the world’s worst racists and anti-semites, with Swastikas in full view at the conference, pictures of Adolf Hitler and copies of the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion openly offered for sale … as the Arab-dominated conference passed motion after motion equating Israel to Nazi Germany.
No mention, of course, of racist laws/restrictions so widespread in Arab countries led by dictators and their secret police forces.
Many concerned nations tried to change the format and the planning process for 2009 so that the conference could have some validity. They failed. The anti-Israel orgy seems destined to continue. … without any condemnation, of course, of Hamas, Fatah or Hesbollah anti-gay, anti-female policies, or their torture, killings and terror … inflicted its own people.
Why not attend … Canada has more of a chance of making a difference if we are there, the naieve argue. Sure, and why doesn’t Canada and send delegates to the next Klu Klux Klan Rally too so we can change their agenda!
So why has the party of social justice blindfolded itself …. so it does not see and feels no need to condemn Arab/Palestinian torture/killings of their own people, executions or severe prison terms for gays, rigid laws/restrictions against women, and (sometimes violent) supression of union organizers and social activists?
Well … maybe it’s because there are only 351,000 Jews throughout Canada, but now more than 784,000 Muslims. And guess which group is growing faster!
It looks like the federal NDP has sold its soul … and principles … not on E-Bay but on the Canadian auction block, for Muslim votes.

So I take it the NDP can’t count on your vote? Didn’t I read somewhere that Israeli forces made an incursion into Palestinian territory and killed somebody before “Hesbollah’s unprovoked attack, killing seven Israeli soldiers and capturing two more (also KILLED by Hesbollah) “also I think if you check the numbers you will find that there a heck of a lot more Palestinians killed by Israeli soldiers than Israeli’s killed by Palestinians.
Just discovered your site the other day and you where doing pretty good till this rant tiped your hand.

So “Dont want to”, since you are making assumptions, here is one for you to chew on – You seem to only wants blogs that are in complete lockstep with your own opinion? Nice to see you can’t even put a name to your post.

Good point. I thought anyone who didn’t already know me would click on About Me; but maybe I should sign each item with my name … as a reminder. But of course, if they don’t already know me.. the name will mean nothing … unless they click on About Me, which was my original point. LOL
