Readers of my Blog may be interested in tuning in The Bill Good Show on CKNW Friday at 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Pacific time.
This is Vancouver’s highest rated morning talk show … and will also be available FREE, via Internet live audio stream, anywhere in the world by clicking the CKNW link above and clicking Listen Live at the top.
I have been invited to be part of a discussion about blogging … why we do it, who reads them, how they are growing in popularity as an alternative to the mainstream news media.
Should be interesting.
And if you miss it … or want to listen to it over and over again … LOL!!! … you can go to CKNW.com anytime in the month following: click on the Audio Vault, bottom left side; then tune in Friday, May 29, at 10 a.m.
So hope you’ll turn your speakers on … and let me know on the Blog YOUR thoughts on the discussion.
Blogging rocks!

Good stuff!
A political note and a glimpse how blog tend to overshadow mainstream news for local insight.
Previous to your ‘slot’, Palmer and Baldry were musing why Opal lost the election; “the vote wasn’t against Opal per se, rather the Delta South voter turned against Campbell……”
But here is an issue that I do think caused Opal to lose. On the Thursday night before the election the (edited for legal reasons .. h.o.) ‘goon squads’ (these are the chaps and chappets, from all political parties who go around taking away or smashing election signs) did away with just about every NDP and Huntington sign they could find. On Friday morning there were seas of blue Wally signs, blowing in the wind and hardly a one from others.
This did not go unnoticed by the locals and several people have confided to me that this was the determining factor to vote for Vickie.
Wally need look no further than his own troops to why he lost (if indeed he has – with a judicial recount next week).

Listened today HO and I like your approach to blogging. Have some fun and voice a few personal opinions. Writing is optional and voluntary; so is reading.
Bill Good is a bit defensive about blogs and that may be understandable because he has been targeted – sometimes fairly, often unfairly. But, anyone who discounts the entire blogoshpere as a community of loony cultists is out of touch with today’s world.
MSM (not necessarily an insult, Bill) ignored people like Glenn Greenwald and Josh Marshall, preferring old hands like Judith Miller or George Will. But today, anyone with half a brain knows that Greenwald and Marshall have been truth tellers about US politics while old folks on the cocktail circuit grew ever more out of touch with all but their own narrow world.
Instead of grumbling, Bill Good do a little research and invite a few fresh new voices to join him on the radio. You may not want to hear about politicians’ girl friends but there is a lot more hard news that gets passed around. A broadcaster who ignores legitimate sources may be trying too hard to shape news for his own satisfaction.
For news junkies, the Internet is the place to be. I doubt Bill Good expects us to keep up by listening to his station when news on the half hour turns out to be 2 headlines given 45 seconds of air time.

just listened to you on the vault Harvey, that was good but bill wasn’t,he’s so full of it, do you really think he’s left on social issues?I for one doubt it for the simple fact that he just about choked when Raif was brought up!And when media bias was mentioned, well let’s just say that when contentious issues were brought up they were to quickly dismissed ,or should I say not gone into enough. On the most part it was good and really enjoyed it,next time your on maybe tell him why msm is so distrusted and not regarded as it once was, because he truly sounded pissed at all bloggers ,be it as it may bloggers provide much more info and less bias than any other source I’ve witnessed lately and this was one of borings best shows thanks to you!PS you sound great on the radio maybe they’ll give you your own spot!
(Response: No spot please..I’m retired.
Actually I give Bill credit … he had me on, and for a full hour, even though on my blog I have criticized what I saw as puffball questions to Campbell and just last week, dumped heavily on the CTC attempt to get cable carriage funds to “save” local tv. Dont think you’ll ever see me treated like that at Global thse days, even tho spent 26 years there. h.o.)

I totally agree with Genuine , I ahve several angry emails from Bill ‘noGood” and he does not like anyone disageeing with him.
Thanks HO ,Obviously I don’t listen to ‘Campbell radio’ so it was nice to hear the Blog side.
(Response: I can’t imagine Good would send out angry e-mails. He may disagree with you but nothing wrong with that. As my blog readers know, I sure have diasagreed with him, on the decision to give Campbell free air time on the news, on CTV network’s overindulgence of Olympic hype and its campaign to “save” local tv. …. I never received an angry response from him ..in fact, to his credit, he invited me on his radio show for a full hour. h.o.)
