This week, Prime Minister Mark Carney and several Canadian Cabinet Ministers will sit down in Toronto with dozens of the world’s TOP money managers … with TRILLIONS of dollars to invest.
Why Canada? Because WE are offering world investors a stable, reliable rule-of-law country where agreements are respected and signatures are written in ink, not pencil.
“Canada ranked well on openness to capital and execution in the energy transition, and trailed only Singapore when it came to policy stability and predictability. Nearly 70 per cent of investors ranked predictability as extremely important or essential in decisions about where to park their money,” Global News reported, citing a CPP Investment study.
Take that, Donald Trump!
Canada will propose to the investors hundreds of projects involving energy, critical minerals, defence, agriculture, port expansions, transportation, data centres, power plants etc.
And that’s not all.
Last Week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in Ottawa where Canada announced another $350 Million in aid to purchase air defence missiles, nearly $435 million in new loan guarantees with the European Bank to support Ukraine winter gas purchases and $200 million in loans through Export Development Canada to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.
But the BIGGEST vote of confidence for Canada’s increasing stature in the world: a 100-year agreement with Ukraine to co-operate/develop/build intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance military drones together at six sites in New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan. (More details here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ukraine-canada-drones-defence-russia-9.7339040).
Clearly, Ukraine also sees Canada as a reliable, loyal, stable, principled ally that will stand by it over the long term!
And later this week, Canada will achieve another very significant milestone: the European Parliament has invited the Prime Minister to address its members, his office says ” “to strengthen Canada’s ties with the EU in trade, investment, and security.”
“His speech will come the day after EU President Ursula von der Leyen announces a new deal with Canada to broaden collaboration on defence, trade and other areas,” The National Post reported Sunday.
Next week, Carney will also meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Saint-Pierre-and-Miquelon, the French islands south of Newfoundland, where the PMO says they will discuss “partnership in strategic sectors, including aerospace, energy and critical minerals, and advanced technologies such as quantum, satellites, and supercomputing.”
It’s clear what is happening … although none dare say it out loud: the world is looking more and more to Canada as a partner.
In fact, I put it to you: Canada has become the new “shining light on the hill” for many of the world’s democracies!
We all knew that Carney had impressed when he spoke in Davos at the World Economic Forum in January, calling out Trump (without naming him) for the “rupture” of the global economic order.
“The most striking thing about Carney’s provocative address was that it was the first time that the leader of a close U.S. ally had the courage to stand up to President Donald Trump and the guts to say enough is enough, ” said Stewart Patrick of the Carnegie Endowment for World Peace afterwards.
“If we’re not at the table, we’re on the menu,” Carney warned the mid-level powers.
Canada has since stood up against Trump on Greenland, criticized the US’s strongest ally, Israel’s policies in the West Bank, and, probably most shockingly for the Mad Hatter, walked away from the trade “deal” the US administration put before Canada … and even retaliated with tariffs on their goods when they hit ours.
In fact, Carney’s personal popularity soared to 62% immediately after and as high as 76% of Canadians support his standing up against the US bully.
Now, it’s looking more every week like the rest of the world supports us too!

If the US/Danish negotiation on Greenland turns out to be a good deal for the US, as this article indicates, https://x.com/rnaudbertrand/status/2102606070694937075?s=46&t=fSypFxt84bBHId-do9r5Ag, Canada may find herself surrounded and squeezed by the USA.
(Response: I don’t worry about the America, Denmark Greenland agreement.Canada is a member of NATO and the US bases in Greenland will just strengthen our defence systems. Ho)
Believe it or not the chauvinistic, misogynous me is missing Marge, but at least Gilbert and Edgar are taking up the slack and that is not to say they are slackers.
Most on here, 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, are basking in Carneys good will ambassadorship and if that is “more an international celebrity than humble Prime Minister of Canada” so be it.
However, I wasn’t aware that Canadian Prime Ministers were required to be humble and certainly those who have held the post in our lifetime have been unaware of that prerequisite. I can’t imagine where we might be amongst ourselves and internationally with Trudeau, Harper, Martin, Chretien, Campbell, Mulroney, Turner, Clark, Trudeau, Pearson, Diefenbaker, or St. Laurent.
Carney 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀 leadership, international appeal and speaks, with intriguing gestures, in a manner which holds everyone’s attention and commands the world take Canada seriously; for once.
He makes us all look good and we will take that for now.
Harvey, you captured the feelings of most Canadians, with your reply to Edgar:
“I have no doubt that, over time, Canadians will be more critical of Carney/Liberals and traditional differences politically, geographically etc. will resurface. But right now, it’s like being on a ship that is under attack and has taken a few hits: people forget almost all else and unite in a bid to keep from sinking and fend off the enemy. And under Captain Carney, I sense we are actually winning: Trump NEEDS a deal in the immediate future more than we do … and most other countries are rooting us on!”
I believe those who are critical at this time are so by nature and the rest of us should be allowed to enjoy the moment. We’ve earned it.
(Response: The invitation by the EU for Canada to become an “Associate Member” was aimed at Trump as much as Carney. There actually is no such position … but the symbolism speaks LOUDLY: the EU’s way of showing support and even appreciation for Carney/Canada’s standing up to the Mad Hatter. And Trump knows that: he’s clearly angry with the move. Great! Made my day! Of course, to discourage any more such moves by the EU, Trump may try to tighten the screws on Canada even more, but likely not before the mid-terms, because he’s well aware many Americans are sympathetic to Canada, especially in the border states that are now in play. Ho)
If the comments here represent the mood of most Canadians, the Prime Minister can call an early election and win a big majority. Despite his bad French and lack of interest in Quebec, he’s popular there, the media loves him, and a lot of pseudo-conservatives now support him. He’s very good at politics, and has an impressive resume.
He wants to privatize four Canadian airports. I wonder what Canadians think about that. I’m not aware of a single case where an airport was privatized and costs came down for the public, so why should that happen now? Airports are a low-risk investment because there’s little competition. I doubt Vancouver will ever have another airport, and most people don’t want to drive to another airport just to save money, so they’re a great investment. Highway 407 in Ontario has a 99-year lease and now has tolls. I thought PM Carney said Canada was not for sale. Well, we know that his words don’t mean much.
If we check his record in the House of Commons, it’s terrible. Of course the media doesn’t report that because its job is to attack the leader of the opposition. We’re now going to be an associate member of the EU, but no one knows what that means. Instead of addressing Canada first, the Prime Minister decided to fly to Europe and reach a deal with Ursula von der Leyen, an unelected leader who got very rich during the pandemic.
King Carney doesn’t care about democracy. If he did, Canadians would have the opportunity to share their opinions regarding the direction of the country. Regarding the new 20 dollar bill, I’m not sure the image of King Charles, a man who is not exactly scandal-free and probably won’t live very long, is the best way to show we’re a sovereign nation, but for elitists like Mark Carney, it’s fantastic.
Lloyd Axworthy is tired of leaders who announce policies while outside the country. Even he is not sure of becoming an associate member of the EU. Does it mean that our foreign policy will be tied to that of the EU? Will Canada have an open-border policy for migrants? Will we need to implement a beautiful climate-change tax?
Canada already has a trade deal with the EU. It hasn’t been ratified by ten countries, though, because of agricultural concerns. Becoming an associate member of the EU doesn’t change that.
Of course Canada needs to diversify its economy and become less dependent on the USA. The reality is President Trump won’t be in power too much longer, and we can probably improve relations with the next president. For me Prime Minister Carney represents elitism, more globalism and bigger government, but I realize most Canadians disagree with me.
(Response: I noted you wrote “If we check his record in the House of Commons, it’s terrible. Of course the media doesn’t report that because its job is to attack the leader of the opposition.” Just curious: if the media didn’t report his record, how did you find out about it? Do you regularly read/collate Hansard? I think the national media (provincial too) do cover the shortcomings of both the PM/government and the Leader/Opposition fairly well … with the possible exception of the CBC giving the NDP far more coverage than its numbers in the House of Commons warrant. What does strike me as unusual is the SUPPORT Carney has received for his handling of Trump etc from Stephen Harper , Doug Ford, David Eby and others … quite a political range … very unusual in politics. Of course, a year from now, if there’s no good news, that could change … and I’m sure the media would report it. Ho)
P.M. Carney is certainly giving us a chance to reduce the impact of the American assault on our economy. Other countries may well invest in Canada. First, P.M. Carney is a known quantity, is mentally and physically stable, understands economics and how money moved and he is NOT a crook or busy enriching himself and his family. He also has good manners and knows how to behave. The Americans are a tad lacking.
Canada has a few other things going for it. We have a Supreme Court which isn’t beholden to politicians and/or billionaire class. They actually know the law and apply it. Canada has a superior Supreme Court because it has rules and the appointing of a Judge is serious business. Some of the things which makes our Supreme Court better is a retirement age of 75, bad behaviour can get you removed, each Judge must come from a different part of the country and have an expertise i.e. a Judge from Quebec must not only speak French but have a back ground in marine law. Companies who operate in Canada don’t have to worry about Judges at local and provincial levels being elected by one political party or another and the one with the most money wins. Canada has the rule of law and it practices it.
Canada also has a professional civil service. Many complain about it, but they pledge allegince to the country/crown not to your political party or financial contributors. It makes a difference.
Companies will be more interested in investing in Canada because we don’t have an ICE, we don’t have concentration camps, we don’t send people to hell holes in other countries, we don’t have the number of children dying by guns. Although many complain about our health care, we are way ahead of the Americans. companies prefer a healthy work force
We may bitch and complain about our country but really its one of the best places in the world to live. It will be an assets when investors are looking around to put their money some where.
The world is going through a “phase” brought on by Trump. His attacks our economy requires us to look elsewhere to do business if we are to maintain our standard of living. Having other business partners will also make us more secure–yes I know some think bringing 49K EVs from China in to Canada will increase China’s ability to spy on Canada. When that new item appeared a friend and I laughed. Don’t they remember the cold war. Countries were spying on each other constantly. We survived that.
As long as these companies obey Canadian laws and how we do business in our lives and economy, things may go just fine. The U.S.A. is not our friend. Neither are some other countries, but at least their leaders aren’t “bad shit crazy” or something along those lines.
(Response: Canada has a much more stable system of government than the US … no PM can rule by absolute decree (even an Order in Council requires Cabinet approval); our Supreme Court judges are much less politically partisan (although it is the government that appoints them); our Elections Officials and electoral boundary commissions do not come and go with each election and openly gerrymander today (although I still remember Gracie’s finger!); and, under the Parliamentary system a government can actually fall between terms if it loses a money vote. The world’s top investors know all this ..and when they look at two more years of Carney, versus two more years of Trump … Canada has a great advantage for them. Ho)
I would like to be as excited about Canada as some others, but I think we need a contrary or more cautious view; no doubt Carney is the brightest light among a very dim group of political elites, and one could extend this to include Canadian’s business and media elites as well. I need to go no further than mentioning the names of Eby and Smith. Viewing the picture of Carney and his partner on the red carpet of the TIFF I came to realize he enjoys the limelight and is more an international celebrity than humble Prime Minister of Canada. Does no one else see the similarities between our admiration of Justin and Pierre Trudeau in their early election cycles.
After a decade of hearing about our historical sins, and national shortcomings, I am honestly skeptical of Carney and the Liberal Party of Canada. Carney nor anyone else in the Liberal government has walked back the last decade of the so called post-national Canada. From my perspective the Carney government has given us anti-Americanism instead of a positive vision of our national identity. Carney has used the incompetent Donald Trump to allow Canadians to feel good about ourselves. The umbrella of economic nationalism is so broad that individually we can read anything we want in order to allow us to feel good about the country.
The Canada Investment Summit 2026 has exposed more of Carney’s vision, special tax status for global investors associated membership in the EU, privatization of assets like airports, ports and pipelines. A quick search asking who benefits from the summit turns up in order 1: Global Investors, sovereign wealth funds and international asset managers gain priority tax certainty and access to 167 major Canadian projects; 2: Canadian CEOs: Domestic business leaders secure long-term capital to scale energy, tech, and defense infrastructure; and 3: Institutional Funds: Domestic managers like CPP Investments leverage a more dynamic domestic market. With the warning that It is well known that ports and pipelines demand high capital, and high capital yields with limited or fewer jobs compared to manifesting. As Stephen Harper is the closing speaker for the conference it appears our nation elite of all flavours has rallied around this new vision for Canada. Other than through polls when will working Canadians have say.
As one who opposed the original NAFTA, I understand the need to diversify our trade and economy, It should have been done long ago but our elites chose integration with the US. The easy way. Now I am concerned about the state of our democracy and who will control our economy. I understand our Constitution and past practice have given the PMO vast powers but should not the tweaking of tax policy for investments been discussed in Parliament along with associate membership in the EU and privatization of community assets.
Free Trade and CUSMA may have worked for while but look around your community today, how many American chains control retail, what happen to our manufacturing industry, and the general social and economic conditions in our community.
Is Carney just initiating another phase of the Staples Theory of the Canadian economy “that Canada’s economic development was driven by exporting single primary “staples” – such as fur, fish, timber, wheat, and minerals—to wealthier industrial “metropolitan” powers” – now critical minerals and energy that first went to France and Britain, later the United States and now China, Asia, and the EU.
I hope I’m wrong but I’m being cautious with Carney and the liberals, I fear the disappoint coming.
(Response: I have no doubt that, over time, Canadians will be more critical of Carney/Liberals and traditional differences politically, geographically etc. will resurface. But right now, it’s like being on a ship that is under attack and has taken a few hits: people forget almost all else and unite in a bid to keep from sinking and fend off the enemy. And under Captain Carney, I sense we are actually winning: Trump NEEDS a deal in the immediate future more than we do … and most other countries are rooting us on! Ho)
Am not a Liberal but would vote for Carney in a heartbeat…with all that is going on with Canada and other nations, am sure there is some in the White House who is watching and will a big announcement about new tariffs against Canada.. the tariff war continues as Canada reach out for a new partners ….Good work Carney … keep it up ..
(Response: I noticed Carney did not retaliate after Trump’s last tariff announcement …but if the Mad Hatter fires yet another salvo, Canada MUST fire back! Ho)
As the Americans wallow and navel gaze with their Hollywood and Disney History, while their country descends int what can only be called the end game of the slow motion Republican Party coup d’etat, Canada has done what Canada has always done, dealt with the situation as it is.
The conservatives thought they had it all wrapped up; Trudeau has held in high odor by the electorate and the Prime Minister in Waiting, Pierre Poilievre, was already preparing his patronage list.
Trump, in typical Trump fashion threatened Canada; Trudeau stepped down; and the public, found its spine (so carefully managed by the politically correct in Ottawa and the provincial governments) said no and today that no is now a massive NO to the USA, the Maple MAGA’s and the Trump/MAGA/Republican Party. leading us to where we are today.
Trump was/is a charlatan, a con man, a 34 count convicted felon and (edited..Ho) and I will not go anywhere near with Epstein & Co.
As Trump slaps one illegal tariff on Canada after another, contrary to American law and as Canada retaliates (as we should), the Americans have unwittingly showed the world that the rule of law does not exist in the USA, well it does if you are not a Trump crony. The Republican Party has stayed mute.
Without the rule of law, investments are not guaranteed, rather your investments are at the whim of the oligarch, er sorry, president , of the USA. The Federal Department of Justice Department has become a later day Gestapo/KGB, filing false claims against those who Trump wishes to destroy.
Would you invest in the USA?
Carney is a money man, a banker and he well understands how the current economy works and he is insulating the damage done to Canada via the first “free trade” agreement orchestrated by Mulroney and Reagan, which in hind sight improved corporate profit while at the same time the start of the decimation of the middle class.
Carney is the man of the hour or decade and we need him because from what I see from the Conservatives, is a weak, Maple MAGA, pro Trump elitist cadre of wealthy people and those conned by the Maple MAGA bumf. A politcal party of fake news, alternative facts, grievance and the distinct feeling that they would sell Canada out.
A year ago it was like 1939 all over again, but with Carney it is now 1941 and the Canadian war machine (and indeed it is a war) is just beginning to show its muscle.
By 1945 Canada produced Canadian industry produced more than 800,000 military transport vehicles, 50,000 tanks, 40,000 field, naval, and anti-aircraft guns, and 1,700,000 small arms. Just wait until those drones come off the production line!
The history books will show, that Trumps presidency not only started the decline of the American Empire, but boosted Canada to be a world leader, whether Canadians wanted it or not!
(Response: One of the reasons Carney’s Investment Summit has drawn so many international money managers is that they know if the Canadian government makes a signed deal, Canada will stick with it, even if the government changes. Trump (and thus the US) can change their minds/policies/deals within hours, let alone days, months, years. That’s an advantage or us that hopefully will help us diversify our investors/deals/economy. Ho)
It’s all in the wording. From Factually……………
“Donald J. Trump has been found liable in civil court for sexually abusing columnist E. Jean Carroll and for defaming her, resulting in multi-million dollar judgments, but he has not been convicted of a criminal sex offense under the traditional criminal-justice definition. Civil liability and criminal conviction are legally distinct outcomes: the Carroll verdict is a civil verdict (sexual abuse and defamation) upheld on appeal, and numerous other allegations remain allegations or were resolved outside of criminal convictions in the sources provided”
Excellent, unbiased reporting Harvey.
I can’t imagine any politician I’ve been exposed to in mylife who would have been at the right place at the right time than Carney, and I’m not a known liberal supporter.
I do think though, the high approval comes as much from a hatred of the evil doer as a love of the do-gooder.
Here on the island, I have seen a surge in anti-Americanism through August and into September, that was not there even a few months earlier.
There have been a lot more US visitors this summer, especially on the water and the farther up island you go the more vocal the locals have become.
It is a real shame it has come to this but “fed up” is a common phrase and now when hearing “it’s him not me,” islanders are no longer as sympathetic or tolerant. In a way, it is good we are moving away from the busy season.
A little off topic but James Carville, thinks Trump will be soundly beaten in the mid terms and the DEMs will offer him impunity if he immediately resigns. A notion I can’t accept.
(Response: Interesting that you are seeing increase in anti-Americanism. I find a lot of anti-Trump (and his administration) sentiment, and a determination to boycott US products, vacations etc … but not anti-Americanism (the people) themselves. But certainly there is a great sense of pride and satisfaction every time new figures emerge about Canadians staying away from the States and their feeling the results. Elbows up, definitely! Ho)
These are the kind of sentiments I’m just recently hearing from people who are fed up with the abuse.
“Americans say: “I’m not responsible for Trump. I didn’t vote for him.”
I don’t stop to wonder whether the person voted for Trump. I don’t know their politics. I don’t know whether they despise Trump or worship him and I automatically associate them with the country whose government is doing these nasty things to us.
When the United States invades a country, threatens another, imposes economic warfare, or attacks the sovereignty of another nation, we don’t have the luxury of separating every individual American from the actions of the American state.
If they genuinely oppose what their government is doing, then don’t simply ask the rest of the world to distinguish themselves from it. Make the distinction visible.”
I’m also hearing this from my friends abroad. Patience and politeness are waning.
(Response: I have no doubt Trump has done enormous damage to America’s interests and status around the world … and, increasingly, within the US as well. The hard core MAGA crowd will forever back their Dear Leader but even conservative Republicans are tiring of his lies, losses and larceny. The only thing he really has going for him is that the Democrats have no leader, have too many extremists winning nominations and haven’t proposed many real solutions to real problems facing the US. Ho)
Quite a difference between Trump and Carney. Trump stabs America’s allies and friends in the back, has no friends, (typical of even some past administrations works tirelessly as a useful tool and idiot for the enemies of his country that want to ruin them, and even makes more enemies, gives tyrants like Putin a designated war criminal, the the red carpet treatment on American soil, isolates and weakens his country, his family hobnobs with and for the the elite corrupt elites, now Trumps son Jr. got a huge financial hand by an oligarch freind of Putins. All this and so much more while he treats his own people to a menu of lies, disrespect and indignities and makes them suffer along with millions around the world who also affected all because of the catastrophes he and his idiots have caused. They are the direct cause of the mess now in the middle east that has hurt so much and so many around the world., and America’s completely captured big media cowards deflect from it and normalize it as do his new military staff of robots, fighting for all that is wrong.
A short but positive note for Carney is that he keeps our allies and friends makes more freinds and economic ties for Canada and strengthens our country and seems to treat Canadians with respect and dignity.
(Response: The world is watching ..and what they see is a United States under Trump that continually turns a blind eye to Russian barbarism, while demanding Ukraine … not Russia … stop hitting Russian energy sources; a US that no longer gives DEFENSIVE armaments but sells them for a profit through Canada and NATO “allies”, who then supply Ukraine; and, a US that applies tariffs/demands on friendly nations, while sucking up to Putin and Xi, refusing to call them out for their anti-American assistance to even Iran! While Canada stands firm, defending our sovereignty, respecting our allies … setting the REAL example as “the shining light on the hill”! Ho)
Will the madness in America have to mend by way of a civil war of sorts. I’m beginning to wonder as they get closer to the Primaries. Things do appear to be ramping up in the ways a rising dictatorship would be implementing. As long as they keep it down there. I don’t like what I see happening. All the earmarks are there. America has sure badly wounded itself, and if a civil war does come to fruition, Canada better be prepared well ahead for any fallout. I’m sure our leaderships have these possibilities taken into account. Maybe ???
(Response: Civil war … no. In a country so divided and with so many guns, there could be the odd (very odd!) militia-type nutbar who will strike out, but no civil war. If the Republicans lose the House and the Senate, Trump will of course claim the results were rigged etc. ..but I sense that excuse is getting a bit tired for most Americans: they see the price of gas and groceries etc…they will know why the Republicans lost. And if they win …that will let the Democrats know how damaged their brand is! Ho)
All the bad things that is happening in the expanding middle east war zone, the world energy and supply and financial crisis because of the war, and the now expanding threats going on in parts of Europe and the NATO alliance by team Putin is all because of that mad nut Trump and a handful of his eqaully mad men and women that serve him. For all intents and purposes he may as well be working for the Kremlin now. Anyone ever ask why Trump would weaken America so much and in so many ways and deplete its weapons and defenses systems so badly, and weaken America and NATO by his erratic and unfriendly behaviour and actions, treat Ukraine with contempt, but treat Putin with kid gloves and respect. His stupid useless generals haven’t figured it out or are to spineless to stop him from his mayhem and carnage hes caused and will further cause. Invoking the 25th amendment clause to remove him and his cronies at the top and jail them should have already happened. Wishful thinking though of course. As for Canadas situation I’m hoping for nerves of steel dealing with the deranged maniac. It’s very hard to deal that mentally unhinged wild behaviour especially when it’s from a president of the United States. It’s like sitting beside a powder keg waiting for the fuse to be lit. There is no grey area in what Canada and Carney has to do. I was watching a news slot with and listening to our Canadian ambassador or representitive talking to a CNN host and she asked him some things about the threats each side was making in our Tarriff War and I thought how stupid she was to ask the way in which she was asking it that made it out to be like we are both eqaully at fault. That was a joke. She was a joke like most of them are. We started nothing except to try and be diplomatic and trying to find common ground. I’m glad our reprsentitive was statesman like and a gentleman dealing with the completely out of touch fool he was being interviewed by.
Imagine choosing our most intelligent and qualified citizen to lead our country. Other countries should take notes.
(Response: Other countries ARE taking note. And its Canada today that is being viewed today with respect … even admiration! Ho)
Sorry Harvey, I just feel like being a bit contrarian.
Just kidding. Carney is doing a great job.
We can thank Chrystia Freeland whose resignation forced Trudeau’s resignation. Of our previous and still living Prime Ministers, Trudeau would have been the worst to deal with Trump. Not only because of his relationship with Trump, but after 10 years in office, and all the negative baggage that brings, I doubt that he could have unified the country the same way Carney has. Harper in his first couple of terms with Layton and Ignatieff/Dion supporting him would have been fine but by his last term his negative baggage might have prevented the united Canadian front but maybe not. Hard to tell with Paul Martin because of his short time in office but his business sense would have helped . Chretien would have been a unifying force but perhaps too fiery. Right now though I prefer Carney to any of them.
I love how Carney has unified the premiers as well. And I am really glad for Doug Ford. He can say the things Carney can’t. And Wab Kinew’s dry wit is hilarious in contrast to Trump’s buffoonery with all the stupid AI memes and off the wall rambles.
(Response: I must admit that I had favoured Poilievre/Conservatives in the last election: believing Carney would be just another Trudeau Liberal type, paying lip service to Canada’s principles … but doing little to actually “living” them. I was certainly wrong on that one: have been (like so many other Canadians .. including many Conservatives) impressed with Carney and his strength/wisdom in defending Canada’s interests. And the rest of the world is noticing too! Ho)
Isn’t Polliviere kind of being ambassadorial at large like and trying to do best he can as a Canadian to mend things between Canada and US. He even refused to knock Carney in any political way when asked things by American media. It seemed strictly for the interests of Canadians. Of course one may welcome and score political points back home as part of the package and he or anyone else knows that, but I see it all as a team Canada effort. Of course those brain dead one track minded activist kinds of media, independent outlets and groups wouldn’t put a positive light on that even if he we’re to being a leading figure in tamping the tarrif war and heated relations down.
Cameco one of top for n energy
More m east events make our oil access even more relevant with Venezuela
taking years to update their infrastructure.
(Response: Trump’s grip on Venezuela makes Canada’s oil/natural gas even more attractive to other nations. Hopefully that will reward us with investments/agreements/developments/jobs/economic growth. Ho)
The more Trump speaks.
The more embarrassing it is.
Carney is working non stop, quite a difference from the last amateur at the wheel.
Interesting times.
(Response: Carney has clearly made a better impression on world leaders across Europe and Asia than Trump… Although that really may not be hard to do! And what surprises me is that Canadians of all political stripes from coast to coast are united like I’ve rarely seen them before. Ho)
